Dreamy decor trends for 2019

As I've gotten older, I've realized staying in (especially throughout winter months) is more appealing than going out.  The key to wanting to stay in is creating a home you like, can relax at, and simply just enjoy.  Changing things out can make a "same old" space feel new and refreshed for the months ahead.

Every year, there are new trends in home decor and I love following the trends while also staying true to myself.  In 2019, you can expect to see bolder colors along with feminine tones, more natural touches, and decor that makes a statement.  If you're curious about finding new trends for your living space, I've rounded up my favorite trends for 2019 to help inspire throughout the rest of the year.

1.  Night Watch Green
This unexpectedly amazing deep green shade represents renewal while bringing a lush greenery and luxurious feel to a space.  Night Watch Green pairs flawlessly with pops of color and metallics.  Use it boldly for cabinets and wall paint or as an accent for chairs and decor.

2.  Boho Decor
Boho is definitely a style I've always been drawn to.  Mixing prints and textures make a room exciting and intriguing while natural elements and plants can give one all the heart eyes.

3.  Terrazzo
Marble, specifically grey/white, has been the big trend in decor, accessories, and everything in between for years now.  It's refreshing to see a new "rock (?)" style taking a seat at the decor table.  The mixture of different elements in Terrazzo makes it unique and interesting.

4.  Statement Ceilings
This is a trend that can really make the most out of a space and I am here for it.  If you've got the decor covered on ground level, why not take it up for the main event (literally)?

5.  Feminine Tones
A touch of pink, blush, rose gold, plum, or any other feminine tones never hurt anyone.  It can soften a room without making it overly feminine.  BUT, just take a look at that pink tiled bathroom!  I think I'm going to need that in my future home.

6.  Black + White Decor
Does black and white ever really go out of style?  It's a clean, classic color combination that you really can't go wrong with.

Which is your favorite trend of 2019?

♥ always
Allison

Vintage style decor doesn't necessarily mean "blast from the past visiting Great-Grandma's house in the country".  It's a mixture of distressed items, older accents, and various prints combined to create a cozy and nostalgic space.  Today, vintage decor is mixed with modern for a fresh look with historical charm.  What makes it even more unique is that you can create a look that no one else has through items collected at thrift stores, flea markets, Vintage Day Festivals, and so on.  The possibilities are endless.  Also, another perk is that it can be incredibly budget friendly.  This space has a variety of floral prints that flow seamlessly together with shades of blue being the solid stand out hue.  The vintage luggage cases on top of the shelving armoire is a cute and different way to display them rather than using them as a makeshift coffee or end table.  Drawing your attention up to the vaulted ceilings is the crystal chandelier, adding a chic touch to the room.  What is your favorite part about this space?

Have you ever laid eyes on a dreamier bathroom?!  The answer is maybe but probably not.  This space seriously looks like something straight out of a lodge resort, right? (and it very well could be).  The mixing of the large straight line tile with the rugged brick and stone gives a modern-chic, yet earthy-rugged vibe...almost like "I want to look pretty and cool without looking like I tried too hard."   Seems like the perfect space to unwind after a long day with a glass of wine in hand.  Well, maybe not a GLASS glass (unless you're a risk-taker) but you get the picture.

This indoor 4 season room is a dream all year around.  Plenty of light, airy and bright for the summer.  Cozy and comfortable in the winter.  The rustic, monochromatic neutral mix is a unique take on a "patio" type of room.  The string lights add a nice ambiance to entertain or have a game night.  This space is unquestionable filled with laughs, good times, and happy hours all year long.

Geometric shapes, animal print, spots, and zig-zags.  So many patterns and such a dream.  It can be a little tricky when it comes to mixing different patterns in a room, but this delightful print mashup is perfect.  Matching a color or two from print to print will help with the flow and coordination of the patterns so that it won't end up an eyesore.  The cheery and playful colors add light and brightness to the space.  The neutral furniture pieces make it easy to change up the decor and complete look of the room without a huge investment.  I'm also seriously envious of that coffee table with the nail head trim...Looks like a potential future DIY project to me!  What is your favorite part of this living room?

This reclaimed wood kitchen is adorable!  The black chairs contrast with the white bench, which is utilized in smaller kitchens or spaces.  The little potted plants and floral add some liveliness to the space.  My personal favorite part is the modern geometric chandelier mixed in with the rustic look of the kitchen.

Black, white and touches of copper.  This industrial-chic kitchen features open shelving, giving the small space a more open feel.  The exposed brick always draws me into a room and I love the contrast of a lighter brick with the black floors.  Also, I'm having some real oven envy over here because of those gold knobs.  What do you think about this kitchen?

Metallic wallpaper, pretty please!  This ultra feminine staircase nook looks so pretty and peaceful with the ladylike blue hues, gold, silver, and antique furniture.  Because of the reflection, metallic wallpapers will brighten a space and is visually pleasing all around.  What do you think about metallic wallpaper?

With spring right around the corner, what better way to prepare than with a colorful floral wallpaper?  What I really like about this powder room is how the designer kept everything else a simple white rather than pick a color in the wallpaper and use the same color to accessorize.  With all the colors on the wall, the clean white keeps the room from looking childish and too matchey-matchey.  The black and white abstract artwork adds a modern touch.  It's girly and feminine but not completely over the top.  Now, I'm not much of a morning person, but I might become one if I could enjoy this bathroom while I conquer my coffee and doll up for the day.

Whether it's an accent wall or entire room, what is there not to love about spotted walls?  This Thibaut Tanzania Wallpaper, Black on Cream, is a fresh, clean take on a leopard design.  The navy tufted headboard with nailhead trim proves navy and black can be done together with a chic outcome.  Also unconventional is a dresser used in place of a nightstand.  This bedroom would surely make a splendid space for out-of-town guests to enjoy.

This room.  The straight lines carry from the shape of the sofa to the lines on the rug.  The contrasting black and white is broken up with dark brown pieces mixed in.  The splash of color with the plum velvet accent chair is a pleasant surprise and doesn't draw attention away from the neutral flow of the room.  Also, my eyes almost instantly noticed that rose quartz colored pillow on the sofa and the faux cow head taxidermy on the wall.  I'm seriously obsessing over rose quartz and faux taxidermy right now...it may be a phase.  We'll see.  Moving on to the oversized bookcase, rustic reclaimed desk with the hutch.  Love how the faux fur on the chair at the desk makes more fun, cozier and less of a "work" space.

What's your favorite part of this room?

This eclectic dining room with mismatched seating has me swooning like no other.  The ghost chair is perfectly placed so that you can see what's going on behind it without taking attention away from the rest of the room.  The layering of the rugs is a unique way to add more pattern into the space.  Additionally, the lady that fell into the shopping bag adds even more quirkiness to an eccentric room.
