Trending Now: Camo Print

If you haven't noticed, camo print is having a major moment.  This isn't your typical "hunting season, blend-in with nature somewhere out in the country" type of camo.  It's now a casual-cool look that is seen everywhere in clothing and accessories, and neutral enough to mix with color...just avoid a neon orange-camo combination if you don't want to look like you're about to go get your deer hunting on.  Read on to find all the cutesy and cool camo pattern things I've found!

I've actually had my eyes peeled for a camo jacket for some time now and the sweet people over at Gabriel Clothing Company were sweet enough to send me this utility style one!  I'm obsessed.
Photographed with the Pumpkin Spice Spice Girl tee that was featured in a previous post.

So yay or nay!?  Are you on board with the camo trend this fall?

Trending Now: Rainbow Bright

Normally I stick to a pretty basic wardrobe color scheme: black, white, and gray.  I find it easier to mix and match, and you can easily look put together in a neutral.  But as of lately, I've been really crushing on this multi-color stripe, "rainbow" trend.  Honestly, I think this style inspiration really stems from Taylor's little sequin rainbow number in "Big Reputation".  Ever since I laid eyes on it, I'm pretty much like GIVE ME ALL THE RAINBOW AND SEQUINS.  So there's that.

{whatever wednesday}

Festival Fashion Must Haves.  I'm gearing up to go to my first MAJOR festival in a few weeks, The Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Upon preparing for this trip, I've put deep consideration into what to pack for my go-to outfits.

A backpack was the first must-have.  Since you'll be on the go pretty much the entire day, it's easy and roomy enough to toss all your essentials in along with some potential purchases you'll make along the way.  No body wants to jam pack Tetris style constantly in a little fanny pack or lug around a shoulder purse.

A bandana is on trend and a key accessory.  Equally adorable around your neck or in your hair.

Sunglasses (duh).  I don't recommend taking your brand new Ray-bans, but an easily replaceable inexpensive pair.  Heart sunglasses are simply sweet for soaking up those festie sun-rays.

Sandals: consider comfort and walk ability.  You're going to be walking miles a day, make sure your feet can handle it.

A cute dress.  There will be a time throughout the festival that you will unfortunately most likely need to use a porta potty, it's the nature of the event.  Wearing a dress makes getting in and out of those disgusting hell holes a breeze.  Also, you don't want to wear something you're constantly tugging at to adjust, falling off your shoulder and so on.

Overall:  Keep to the essentials, easy, and no-fuss items.  Are you heading out to any festivals in the near future?  If so, which ones?  Here is where to find all the items listed above:

Four Outfits to Ring in 2015

Okay, let's be honest.  New Year's Eve is supposed to be THE BEST NIGHT of the year but boils down to the pressure, the plans.  Weeks, if not months, in advance you're supposed to know what you're going to do for that ONE evening and who you're going to spend it with.  The past 3+ New Year's, I've spent odd-wheeling it with friends (aside from last year when I skipped town and wasn't the only single, which was by far the best decision I could've made).  While they've all been fun, I find the whole New Year's theory to be slightly overrated.  As much as I've threatened, my gems of friends refused to let me sit at home in my party dress and down champagne solo.

NOT to mention the whole midnight kiss thing.  There's always the vulture guy with his single radar on, who tries creeping and keeping as near as possible when the clock is close to striking midnight.  Sorry, but being lip locked with some stranger is NOT exactly my idea of the perfect way to start a new year...therefor I typically do the quick turn away and immediately kiss my vodka water (clearly in the most tasteful way possible).  I've had 3+ years of practice so that pretty much makes me a professional at this point.  That all being said, this may be the first New Year's in oh, let's say EVER, that I'm actually looking forward to.

Anyways, I came up with 4 different outfit ideas that have you covered, whether you're going to a sassy soiree or celebrating with a house party.  My thing for a black and gold combination continues through two of the looks.  Each look contains sequins (duh), because there's no such thing as too much sparkle on New Year's Eve.

Barbie-QT

Memorial Day Weekend.

I know.  I know.  You're super stoked to bring out the flowy-lightweight summer whites for this weekend's festivities-can't blame you after the horrific winter we've dealt with.  Unfortunately, if you're anything like me (clumsy and spill-prone), light colors are always a daring decision on the daily, with straying mustard splatter written all over that little white dress.  My foolproof fashion fix for the situation?  Go with colored prints, patterns or show your patriotic side with the classic red, white and blue.

Whether your weekend plans include a backyard BBQ, lounging by the pool, heading to a Jazz festival (fun fact: the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend is International Jazz Day), or hell, even partaking in a hot dog eating contest, these infallible looks will have people saying, "Grill, you look good.
