Spring Wardrobe Wishlist

Spring is almost here, it's literally so close you can almost smell it.  While powering through the last few weeks of official winter (the end is in sight...March 20th to be exact), it's impossible to not browse the internet and shop for those need-it now springtime wardrobe updates.

A small crossbody is a must-have item for when you're on the go.  This pale pink with gunmetal hardware is the bag to throw across your body while running errands or to hold your cash, lipstick, and the essentials for a night out.

The warmer weather means your hair will be up more.  These vibrant color tiered tassel statement earrings define your face and will have heads turning!

I've totally been crushing on blush for a while now and am obsessing over this feminine spin on the classic, casual denim jacket.

Meeting the girls for brunch?  Outfit planning just got a whole lot easier with an easy-breezy striped jumpsuit.

How fun is this raffia straw, pom trim hat!?  Must-have for spring break!

These metallic slingback shoes will look oh-so-cute with those cropped denim jeans!

A woven straw basket bag is a casual-cool spring-summer staple from picnics at the park to lunch with the ladies.

Warmer days can require daintier jewelry.  Bohemian-inspired crescent earrings will sparkle during the day and shine at night.

What to Wear for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day...you either love it or you love to hate it.  It'll be here before you know it, regardless of what your plans are or your relationship status is.  I put together a few favorite outfit ideas for different things you may have going on for February 14th...a surprise date, casual evening ordering in, girls night out, or Galentine's get together.
Valentine's Day Outfit

1.  Surprise date night.  He made the reservations and just informed you a few hours before.  Instead of frantically searching the closed, just know that you can't go wrong with a ruffled LBD, velvet bootie, and red lip.

2.  Girls night out.  Flirty floral with badass leather is one of my favorite combinations for wherever the night may take you!

3.  Night in.  Fancy dinner reservations?  No, thanks...Cozy up in a cute sweater and comfortable denim for watching chick flicks with your SO or ordering pizza with your best girls.

4.  Galentine's get together.  This casual outfit could be worn for weekend brunch, bowling, hitting up the dive bars, seeing your favorite band, or out for Mexican food with the girls.

Festival Fashion

Coachella has come and gone but for me, festival style basically equates to summer wear.  It's almost a guarantee that there is a music festival or concert in the books for you within the upcoming months.

My day-long, concert going advice:
Avoid playsuits or overalls.  With all the liquids being pumped in to your body, chances are you're going to use the restroom relatively often.  Rompers especially make restroom using slightly and and awkward, since you basically have to strip down in a public place.  Opt for a shorts and tank combo or a comfortable dress.
Backpacks and crossbody bags are key, because no one wants to hold a purse on their shoulder all day.
Take just the necessities.  Girls can get a little carried away piling stuff in bags, but that shoulder will hurt by the end of the day if too much is weighing you down.
Easy layers.  Lightweight during the day, while the sun is beating down.  A jacket or button down for if it cools off at night.
Flats or wedges, but make sure they're comfortable.
Avoid bulky and heavy jewelry, you'll regret wearing anything that gets irritating as the day goes on.

Here are 4 looks to help inspire your festival and concert style all summer:

Olive Juice

Lately, I've been a huge fan of the monochrome looks.  Layering different shades of the same color can be done, as long as it's done right.  This particular day, I went with various shades of olive.  As accessories, I went with a gunmetal, gold, and silver pyramid bracelet, black messenger bag, and tortoise shell Ray-Bans.  Topped with a black bowler and bottomed out with black oxfords.  How do you feel about the monochromatic look?  Would you wear it?

blue diamond

One of the things I love most about a maxi is how versatile they can be.  There are so many different ways to layer, making them an easy transitional piece.  Most people may look at this dress and think it's strictly for spring or summer, with the slit sleeves and print.  Throwing on the fur vest, chocolate brown wool hat, and booties made it an easy go-to for fall.

We noticed my bag I had grabbed to throw all my junk in as I was running out the house was accidentally an almost identical print with some similar colors, so I had to add this photo on here...also because I look cool and it reminds me of a DSW ad.
