Stars, Stripes, and Sparklers: 4th of July Fashion

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of fashion.  You don't have to dress like a flag and go all out cliché
patriotic spirited style (but you CAN if you want).

Of course, cut-off shorts, aviators, and muscle tanks are the epitome of Americana trends.  Represent Lady Liberty by mixing printed red, whites, and blues or go with a classic white dress paired with nude wedges.  Tying colors like mint, turquoise, or yellow in with your "flag" article of clothing is a fun and unexpected way to break up the scheme of things.  Nautical styles (think espadrilles and stripes) are always a classy, patriotic combination and it doesn't scream "I'm here for the party, hand over the PBR and apple pie."

A few great gym etiquette tips.  If plan on hitting the gym any time soon, PLEASE take a moment to read and follow these.  Seriously, no one wants to use that sweaty machine you were just on if you don't wipe it off afterwards, nor do they want to wipe it down themselves. ::cringe:: Be respectful, people.

Summa-Summa!  I'm all about hitting the parks and music festivals during the summer, so picnics are plentiful.  A little twist on a caprese sandwich:  garlic spread, balsamic vinegar, mozzarella, salami, tomato, basil.  Sounds mouth wateringly simple and just nix the salami for a vegetarian option.

I sort of have a thing for bar carts and I just love the look of this whimsy-boho one.  Wooden cart, mismatched candle sticks of different heights, and "BAR" spelt out in flowers...what's not to love?

Happy Pink Flamingo Day!

Were you aware that June 23rd is National Pink Flamingo Day?  Pink Flamingo Day was created in 2007 by Dean Mazzaralla (the mayor of Leominster, MA) to honor the work of Don Featherstone, the designer of the plastic lawn flamingo.  Featherstone created these pink lawn ornaments in 1957, while working for Union Products, Inc., which then went on to the market in 1958.

Show your love for flamingos on Pink Flamingo Day by wearing pink, decorating your lawn, or throwing a Pink Flamingo Day Party!  Please note:  A minimum of four flamingos is required to have a decent sized flamboyance (aka a flock of flamingos).

Celebrate with a Cocktail or Two

Taylor has gone to show she has another hilarious-grandmotherly hobby.
I've considered taking up needlepoint before, this inspires me to get serious about the hobby.

I absolutely love the unconventional ideas and layering options to accessorize the leading lady.

...quite possibly the most Vogue-worthy wedding photos ever.
